The TEA story...
THE ENGLISH ASCENT (TEA),
fue establecido en 2012 como un Centro Preparador Oficial de Cambridge English Language Assessment. Estaba localizado en el centro de Granada y se especializa en cursos preparatorios de exámenes de Cambridge nivel B1, B2 y C1 
(Cambridge English), inglés de negocios, intensivos de Cambridge B2 y C1 e incluso seminarios de redacción científica y presentaciones orales. 

Para tener éxito con el inglés en el ámbito personal, profesional o para aprobar los exámenes, aunque el alumno debe estar verdaderamente comprometido e interesado, también es fundamental tener a alguien que te
oriente en tu trayectoria con clases y técnicas adecuadas. 

En el mundo online existe una amplia oferta, así que cuando decidas formar parte de algún curso para alcanzar tus perspectivas de desarrollo personal o profesional, debes intentar sacar el mayor rendimiento, ya que tendrás que invertir tiempo, dinero y esfuerzo.

Dadas las circunstancias derivadas de la pandemia de Covid-19 en 2020 TEA se ha convertido en un centro de enseñanza virtual. Seguimos ofreciendo formación en inglés de alta calidad, al igual que lo hacíamos con las clases presenciales.

Me llamo Daniel Fermor-Smith y si decides formar parte de TEA seré tu profesor. Y ahora te preguntarás, ¿Quiénes soy yo y por qué estoy bien cualificado para enseñarte y guiarte?

Soy un nativo inglés graduado en Económicas y titulado con el certificado de Cambridge RSA en TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). Pero lo más importante es que llevo quince años en Granada preparando alumnos para los exámenes de Cambridge, y veinte años como profesor de inglés en total. Además de trabajar como profesor de inglés he trabajado en el sector financiero en la City de Londres, y he estudiado periodismo y trabajado como periodista. Considero que es importante que conozcas quien será tu profesor cuando decidas embarcarte en un curso de inglés, y por ello, te proporciono un breve resumen de mi currículo para tu información...

English Teacher: September 2003 – December 2006; Vaughan Systems, Málaga/Granada.
July 2004 – Dec. 2006: I specialised in giving one-week residential intensive courses to business people in rural hotels in Cordoba and Ronda (approx. 25 – 30 taught in total). The courses comprised 6 hours classes a day plus a two hour evening business activity, classes being given in rotation along with one or two other teachers and students.
Sept. 2003 – July 2004: I used the unique Vaughan Systems methodology giving classes to business people in companies such as Vodafone and Elcan Industries in the Technology Park of Andalucia, Màlaga.
All levels taught from beginner to advanced.
Resources used included: Vaughan Systems methodology and materials, Market Leader intermediate and advanced, newspapers, general magazines (incl. Time and Newsweek), and business journals such as the Economist.
 
Chief Reporter: July 2002 – July 2003; South Hams Newspapers Ltd., Totnes, England.
Primary responsibility was to research and write the content for a designated weekly newspaper.
Titles included: The Totnes Times and The Plympton, Plymstock and Ivybridge News.
 
Customer Service Executive: Oct 31 2002 – Jan 31 2003; Prestige International Ltd., London. 
I was employed on a 3-month contract to help establish a customer service call centre for the jeweller, Cartier.
 
English teacher: November 2000 – July 2001: Various English teaching organisations, Buenos Aires.
I gave general English and business English classes one-to-one, and in groups.
Clients included: Accenture, HSBC, Siembra, Tagsa.
Resources used included: Insight into Business, Headway (various levels), videos, and newspapers (e.g. The Financial Times, Buenos Aires Herald)/magazines (e.g. The Economist, Time Magazine).
  
Product specialist/Account Manager: July 1997 – October 2000; Financial Times Information/Thomson Financial, London.
Principal responsibility was to provide specialist financial data support, and coordinate technical support and product training for a list of clients which the company provided financial information to.
I took part in two major migration projects in which the objective was to move clients from old to new technology as seamlessly as possible.
Participated in contract negotiation for these migrations.
 
English teacher: September 1994 - April 1996: Madrid.
English Business Institute, Sept 1995 to March 1996. I worked as a business English teacher giving classes one-to-one and in small groups to professional people in leading Spanish and multinational companies, including: Sanitas, ABN Amro Bank, Asnef Aquifax.
Union Pacific, Sept 1994 to July 1995. I worked as an English teacher in a secretarial college giving classes to groups of 20-30 aspiring secretaries.
